Saturday Morning Marine Explorers: Spring 2014 Series (Ages 6 - 9)
Join our MarineQuest staff this fall for Saturday mornings filled with exciting scientific fun at the UNCW Center for Marine Science. Each month, we focus on a different theme as we get hands-on to explore sea creatures, marine habitats and ocean phenomena through lab experiments, field activities, games, art and more. Experience first-hand what it's like to be a true Marine Explorer!
Registration in our Fall 2014 Program Series includes participation in the following dates/programs:
September 20 - How Fish Handle Hurricanes
Learn how hurricanes can change coastal fish habitats, food supplies and even addresses! Learn how fish and other sea creatures survive these storms.
October 18– Gigantism Under the Sea
Scientists keep discovering giant species of sea life as they explore the ocean. Meet some of these creatures and find out why they are so big!
November 15 – Crunchy Crabby Crustaceans
Join Marine Explorers to learn everything you every wanted to know about crustaceans from krill to lobster. Beware of the claw!
December 13 – Christmas Tree Worms
Meet some of the ugliest and most beautiful creatures in the sea- worms! Discover the important roles they play in the marine environment.
Due to the advance preparation and purchasing required for this program NO REFUNDS will be provided for the Marine Explorers program.
