Creature Tech: Biomimicry (ages 8-10)
For ages 8-10 must have completed second grade
Did you know that squid movement was the inspiration for jet propulsion? Or that bat echolocation was the inspiration for sonar? Discover how engineers imitate nature’s best ideas to create new technological solutions for human problems. Join us for a week of inspirational engineering as we explore the science of biomimicry. You can learn a lot from Mother Nature!
Activities: investigate squid propulsion, shark skin, gecko adhesives, boxfish aerodynamic, and more. Field trips to the aquarium, and other sites.
Highlights: a boxfish derby, squid jet races and more.
Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given within 2 weeks prior to the start date of your camp session. A 25% cancellation fee will be charged up to 2 weeks prior to camp start date. Please note that there will be a $25 processing fee for any changes in dates of enrollment.
