Notes: Welcome to Engineering Expectations Summer Camps. To complete your registration, you must fill out and return your forms to us postmarked within 2 weeks of receiving your enrollment confirmation email. Make sure your camper’s name is on every form returned. You can mail the forms to: UNCW Engineering Summer Camps Department of Youth Programs 601 South College Road Wilmington, North Carolina 28403-5614 ATTN: Confirmation Paperwork If you register your child for a camp within 3 weeks of the program’s start date DO NOT mail your forms; instead you must: 1. fax your forms to 910/962-4000* within 5 days of your registration date but no later than the Wednesday prior to your program start date (whichever is first); 2. call 910/962-2118 to verify your fax was received; 3. and bring the original completed copy of your forms to camp to turn in to a staff member. *please note this fax machine is only monitored from May 23rd through August 8th. DO NOT attempt to fax paperwork to us outside of these dates. Alternatively, you can drop off the paperwork in person at the Youth Programs office on the main campus located in the Natural Science Trailer on the corner of Cahill and Walton Drives. http://www.uncw.edu/ba/flash/campusmap.pdf (See building code NS in grid C between 2 & 3). Must wear closed toed shoes. Clothing should be able to get messy and dirty. Campers must bring their own water bottles and a healthy, nutritional snack and a lunch. More details will be provided in confirmation materials. Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given within 2 weeks prior to the start date of your camp session. A 25% cancellation fee will be charged up to 2 weeks prior to camp start date. Please note that there will be a $25 processing fee for any changes in dates of enrollment.

Did you know that squid movement was the inspiration for jet propulsion? Or that bat echolocation was the inspiration for sonar? Discover how engineers imitate nature’s best ideas to create new technological solutions for human problems. Join us for a week of inspirational engineering as we explore the science of biomimicry. You can learn a lot from Mother Nature!

Activities: investigate squid propulsion, shark skin, gecko adhesives, boxfish aerodynamic, and more. Field trips to the aquarium, and other sites.

Highlights: a boxfish derby, squid jet races and more.

Cancellation policy: No refunds will be given within 4 weeks prior to start date of your camp session.
50% refunds (based on the program’s total tuition cost) will be given 8-4 weeks prior to start date of camp (50% cancellation fee).
25% processing fee for any cancellations made prior to 8 weeks before start date of camp.
$25 processing fee for any changes in dates.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing or by phone with a confirmation e-mail.
