Description

The registration fee includes all meals, transportation between events, except to and from the airport, and hotel accomodations at Staybridge Suites.

UNCW’s Swain Center and the Institute for Defense and Business (IDB) offer this intensive certificate program in Managing Intercultural Conflict (MIC) for business, government, and defense professionals who wish to gain a greater understanding of managing conflict in intercultural settings. The MIC program provides an increased awareness of the fundamental causes of conflict and assists participants in acquiring new skills for effectively assessing and managing conflict.


Objectives:

  • Navigate intercultural negotiations more successfully
  • Leverage opportunities in post reconstruction environments
  • Negotiating better relationships in difficult terrain
  • Apply program content to actual organizational concerns
  • Build a climate of trust and cooperation

The objective of the certificate program is to give graduates the knowledge and skill set to manage conflict, navigate diverse cultural norms (both within organizations and across cultures) and negotiate within difficult terrain.

This class is designed for professionals in business, government, and defense sectors who wish to gain a greater understanding of managing conflict in intercultural settings.
